WorkSmart operates through two aligned organizations to ensure transparency, accountability, and strong outcomes for students, schools, and the community.

 WorkSmartPro LLC is our for-profit organization. Its role is to provide the career readiness system schools use to implement and sustain high-quality programming.

WorkSmartPro:

• Owns and maintains the curriculum and implementation system
• Licenses instructional materials and tools to districts
• Provides training, implementation support, and consulting
• Supports documentation and year-round readiness practices

Funded by: district contracts, licensing, and professional services
Focus: systems, tools, and implementation support

 WorkSmart Foundation is our nonprofit organization. Its role is to deliver charitable and educational services that directly benefit students and communities.

The Foundation:

• Delivers the WorkSmart Career Showcase
• Provides student-centered career readiness programs
• Facilitates workshops, coaching, and guided experiences
• Coordinates mentors, employers, and community partners
• Expands access through grants, donations, and sponsorships
• Measures outcomes and documents impact

Funded by: grants, donations, and community support
Focus: programs, students, and public benefit

• WorkSmartPro LLC provides the system  (products)

             (curriculum, tools, training, implementation support).
 

• WorkSmart Foundation delivers the programs  (services)

            (Career Showcase, student experiences, community engagement).
 

Each organization is funded separately and operates with clear boundaries. This structure protects our nonprofit mission while allowing schools to access high-quality systems and support.

• WorkSmart Foundation delivers the Career Showcase and student programs as a charitable service.  
• Districts adopt the system through WorkSmartPro—supported by structured implementation, documented outcomes, and MDE-aligned Bridge-to-Career and College & Career Readiness competencies. 
•  Students benefit by developing presentation and communication skills, showcasing their career interests, mentoring younger students through Showcase presentations, earning community service hours through nonprofit programming, building professional networks through the Career Showcase and Career Clubs, gaining recognition through school, county, regional, and state-level participation, accessing Showcase-specific scholarship, internship, and job opportunities made available through district participation, and, as they complete the program, meeting the competencies for both Bridge-to-Career and College & Career Readiness graduation requirements.
